Tech Team Extension

We embed experienced blockchain engineers into your team, working within your repositories, processes and security controls. Our specialists cover protocol engineering, smart contracts, security, DeFi, tokenization, custody and zero-knowledge development, with access to LimeChain's wider engineering team when needed. You interview candidates and decide who joins.

How it works

  1. 1

    Define the requirements

We agree on what needs to be shipped, the expertise required and how success will be measured.

  2. 2

    Define responsibilities

We agree on ownership, review responsibilities and which decisions require escalation.

  3. 3

    Choose the people

We propose specialists with relevant experience. You interview them and confirm who joins.

  4. 4

    Onboard into your controls

Our specialists adopt your repositories, security policy and review gates. We agree the AI and data policy too.

  5. 5

    Work within your delivery process

Our specialists follow your team's delivery cadence, with LimeChain architects available when additional expertise is needed.

  6. 6

    Review the team setup

We reassess the team's composition as requirements change and adjust it when different expertise is needed.

  7. 7

    Transfer knowledge continuously

We document key decisions and share knowledge throughout the engagement, so your team retains context as the work progresses.

Frequently asked questions

How is team extension different from hiring a contractor?
An individual contractor brings one person's capacity. LimeChain's team extension puts named specialists inside your team while keeping them connected to LimeChain's wider architecture, security and domain expertise, so a hard question gets escalated internally rather than becoming your problem. LimeChain also carries responsibility for delivery quality against your review gates, and for replacing a poor fit rather than leaving it in place.
Which skills can you provide?
Protocol and consensus engineering, smart contract development and security, DeFi and financial mechanism design, tokenization and institutional integrations, wallet and custody engineering, zero-knowledge development, backend and infrastructure engineering, and blockchain product design. Common stacks include Rust, Go, Java, TypeScript, Solidity and Daml, across Ethereum, Solana, Hedera, Polkadot, Polygon, Base and Canton Network.
Can we choose the engineers?
Yes. LimeChain proposes candidates on relevant protocol, product, security and collaboration experience, and you interview them and confirm who joins. If the fit is wrong after onboarding, the composition is changed rather than defended. Team shape is also reviewed periodically, because the skills a project needs at month one are often not the skills it needs at month six.
How do you protect our code and IP?
The extended team works inside your repositories, your security controls and your access policy. Where AI tooling is used, the model and data policy is agreed during onboarding, including which models may see your code, what stays inside LimeChain's private environment on LimeChain-controlled hardware, and whether private-only workflows are required.
Is team extension the right engagement for us?
Not always, and LimeChain will say so. Where the work is already well specified, a Fixed Outcome engagement is usually cheaper and puts delivery risk on LimeChain rather than on your management overhead. Team extension fits where the work is genuinely open-ended, where priorities shift, or where you want capability transferred into your own team rather than a deliverable handed over.
What happens to knowledge when the engagement ends?
Documentation, architecture decision records, operational knowledge and ownership transfer continuously rather than being compiled at the end, which is what makes an orderly exit possible. At close, your team holds the code, the decisions behind it and the operational runbooks. The engagement can also scale down gradually or convert into an ongoing partnership for the parts you do not want to own.
